“Hey, let’s go to Fun City nearby to have fun after school!” said the teens living in Lek Yuen Estate in the 1980s. What? An entertainment centre located just nearby schools? What was so attractive for teenagers in the 1980s?

為了滿足1980年代瀝源邨居民的消閒需求，1984年興建的娛樂城成為了他們的主要娛樂場所。
曾經作為潮流的聚集地，娛樂城曾吸引了很多青少年前來，因為那裏擁有遊戲中心、桌球室和麻將館等娛樂場所。 這裏也是香港經典電影《賭神》其中一個取景地。
時過境遷，娛樂城的黃金時代已經一去不復返。現今娛樂的選擇越來越多，信息流動和交通亦日益便利。因此人們傾向於在娛樂城之外享受其他活動，導致了娛樂城如今的衰落。
To fulfill the demand for leisure among the residents who lived in Lek Yuen Estate during the 1980s, Fun City was built as a major entertainment venue in 1984.
It once acted as a concentration of trend that attracted a lot of teenagers to spend their time since game centers, billiard saloons, and Mahjong schools were included in Fun City. One of the scenes of the “God of Gamblers”, a Hong Kong classic film, was also shot here.
However, as time passes, the golden period of the Fun City no longer returns. It is because there are increasing choices of entertainment, advancement of information flow, and transportation. People tend to enjoy other activities outside the Fun City which leads to its fall nowadays.
