#02 YHA Mei Ho House Youth Hostel

Mei Ho House is one of the first batches of 8 unoccupied buildings after the Shek Kip Mei fire, it is also the only remaining H-shaped resettlement block in Hong Kong and the first design for the same category of public housing. After revitalization, Mei Ho House became a youth hostel, and the Heritage of Mei Ho House was opened on the lower floor. In addition to the historical background of Mei Ho House, the exhibition also reproduces the living environment at that time. The underground exhibition hall shows the community environment in the 1950s and 1960s, such as the exterior of a movie theater, herbal tea shop, and street market. The exhibition area on the first floor shows the living environment of different ages. There is only one main road between the Garden Center and Mei Ho House.

*Garden Center is currently undergoing reconstruction
