Mr. Choi Wing Kei

Mr. Choi Wing Kei is the second owner of “榮基花店”. He has a unique understanding of flower boards. Adhering to the concept of making flower board keep pace with the times, he boldly innovated on the original craftsmanship, such as replacing the antimony paper on flower board with cloth, and switching light bulbs to LED lights, etc., so that flower board can adapt to the needs of modern people. Mr. Choi Wing Kei was invited to Washington, United States in 2014 to create the largest flower board ever for the National Festival, demonstrating his exceptional skill. Moreover, in order to promote the intangible cultural heritage of flower board, he once collaborated with “榮基花店” to participate in the 2021 community-driven project organised by the Hong Kong Intangible Cultural Heritage Office in order to assist more citizens in realising the traditional skill of flower board.
