Workshop 1: Sha Tin Indigo Dyeing Experience: the Colour within Historical M
emory

More than 300 years ago, Wong Uk Village was filled with a kind of plant, which was called “the blue tree” by the villagers. Actually, it was also known as "Strobilanthes Asia". Villagers would use it to make indigo dyeing, but this craft gradually faded out. This workshop hopes to let the participants experience the interest of indigo dyeing, and also deepen their understanding towards Sha Tin history and its livelihood in the past.
