Old Wan Chai Market
The Old Wanchai Market, situated on Queen's Road East, was established in 1937. The Public Works Department of the colonial period designed this structure in the Bauhaus style. It is listed as a Grade 3 heritage structure. It is based on the "form follows function" principle. Building design prioritizes function over ornamentation and substitutes non-functional embellishments with clean lines. The open and large windows on its external wall are intended for ventilation and illumination because an atmosphere that is too hot and dark will create hygiene issues. Later, in 2009, the old Wan Chai market was purchased and demolished, with only 45% of the area remaining. The old shops were all replaced by high-end domestic goods stores and coffee shops, and private houses were constructed on top of the market. Even though only the external wall remains, the architectural design can still represent the past and keep the locals' collective memory. Furthermore, the market is a significant

Old Wanchai Post Office
It built around 1912, located between the Wan Chai Gap Road and the Queen's Road East, and it is the oldest post office in Hong Kong. Not only it represents the characteristics of the Wanchai district but also is the architecture mixed up with Chinese and western cultures. The roof is built in the double barrel and double tiles from the Lingnan architectural style. And the pitched-roof structure refers to the Western architectural style. In the era without the internet and email, the post office occupied a significant part of the old Wan Chai residents' life because each mailbox, which was the only way to build up connections between people and people, carried daily matters.
Lee Tung Street
Talking about Lee Tung Street, most people may think about its other name, as known as Wedding Invitation Street, and it started developing in the 1950s. Without any advertisement, people have already connected "Inner Wedding Invitation" with "Lee Tung Street". The original street was composed of old tenement buildings and underground shops. Most of the shops operated in the mode of shops in the front and factories in the back, making Lee Tung Street a street full of traditional characteristics that have accumulated over the years. More, the street has experienced many controversies, but it was a pity that it was no match for the fate of development in the end. Finally, in 2010, the reconstruction plan for Lee Tung Street started. Although the current residents and shops on Lee Tung Street have been scattered, there are still some traces left to let us know about the street that lost to time.
